(MIF) Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2; ½H2O (M.W. 284.35; 9.01) C13H24N4O3; ½ H2O [2002-44-0] Also increase dopamine levels. Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2, NH2, have been isolated from bovine hypothalamic tissue and structurally identified. Since purification of the bovine extract involved heating to boiling in dilute acetic acid followed by rapid cooling, the recent suggestion by Hadley, Bower, and Hruby that hypothalamic extracts heated to boiling under undefined conditions lose their ability to inhibit MSH release probably can be dismissed as a technical problem.
